Mobile certificate is being renewed – the identification view will change starting from January 14th

The popular Mobile certificate is being renewed in phases. The first visible change for users will be the updated identification views, introduced gradually starting January 14, 2025, across different services.

The Mobile certificate, offered by DNA, Elisa, and Telia to their customers, has been one of Finland’s most popular digital identification methods for years. With the Mobile certificate, users can securely identify themselves in over 20,000 domestic digital services.

The first updates will focus on the Mobile certificate’s views, which users encounter when identifying themselves in their chosen service. Below is an image of the new identification view.”

The changes to the identification views require no action from customers, and you can continue using the Mobile certificate just as before.

This is the first phase of the renewal. In early 2025, DNA and Elisa will launch the Mobile certificate app, which will, among other features, enable identification in digital services using fingerprint and facial recognition.

You can find more information about upcoming changes to the Mobile certificate on this website or by contacting your operator.

Using the Mobile certificate minimizes the risk of entering your banking credentials on fraudulent websites

The Mobile certificate is an identification method approved by authorities. Operators, cybersecurity experts, the Finnish Tax Administration, and the Police Fraud Investigation Unit recommend that Finns use it for all digital interactions except banking services.

The Mobile Certificate is not linked to the user’s bank accounts and features two-factor authentication. Its use reduces the risk of bank credentials falling into the wrong hands.”
